Sephora picks under $30

$30 and Under Sephora Picks – Summer 2020

I shopped so much from April to May, I almost have no desire to shop anymore. ALMOST. I have been trying to be better at having more “no spend” days. Although, that has been tough to do with my recent McDonald’s Diet Coke addiction.

If I compare it to last year, I have spent a lot less money at Sephora because I have found buying direct from the brands or other websites is a better value. I will always love their Sephora Favorites kits, though. That is how I have been able to afford to try so many new things – that and their reward points cash-ins, which have admittedly gotten much better. They are always so good starting in October.

Sephora’s Loyalty Program

The good news is Sephora did finally revise their loyalty program. Sephora now offers $10 in exchange for 500 points. This is still not as good as Ulta, but it is a step in the right direction. Now the point multiplier events actually mean something!

Currently Sephora is having a point multiplier event – which can help put you over the edge of the points you might need for $10 off.

I put together a list of my current Sephora favorites this summer — things I know I love and things I want to try — all under $30.

Affordable Sephora Favorites – Under $30

Sephora Picks under $30

  1. SuperGoop Jet Set SPF, $28
This is a great set to try out SuperGoop sunscreen — one of my favorite brands of sunscreen — especially the Unseen.

This set contains 1 oz. of the Play and Defense Refresh setting mist. I thought the Play sunscreen was good, but it is not something I would buy regularly. However, I like to always have a small sunscreen in my purse in case someone forgets to put on sunscreen.

The real stars of this set are the setting spray and the UNSEEN primer. I tried the setting spray SPF at a wedding recently and LOVED it. It has a super-fine mist that is evenly distributed on your face with every spritz. It is great for touching up sunscreen after your make-up is already done!

I have been using the Unseen primer for more than 2 years — it is so easy. Just apply it, and it creates a nice even base for your make-up while giving you sun protection and covering up your skin’s imperfections!

  2. Sephora Bubble Mask, $5.50 or 4 for $16.50

My friend Sara introduced me to this mask. I love it so much! It is a “detox” mask that bubbles as soon as you apply it to your face. I love the smell of it and it is a mask I look forward to because it is fun and relaxing. I like to use it during the summer months when I have layers of SPF on my face and want a good, clean feeling. I like to use the steamer I featured in my ‘Friday Night Facials‘ post and follow-up with this mask. IT FEELS SO GOOD.

  3. OLE HENRIKSEN 3 Little Wonders, $17

I received a 7-day sample of this kit 4 years ago. I used it for 7 days and could see a difference — I was glowing! I did not have a skincare routine (besides washing my face and SPF) until I started to use this. This is a trial size of the kit, which is still available for $51 at Sephora. It contains an easy-to-use (and smells good too!) Vitamin C serum, a sample size of the face lotion (it is one of my favorites — light, but moisturizing), and an light acid gel that you use at night to help with exfoliation. If you want to try it out — this is a great way to see if you notice a difference. I would say that this is at least a 2 week supply of the Vitamin C serum, but the lotion and gel are much smaller.

  4. Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, $19

We are bringing it back! I received about 20 DMs when I posted about this lipstick. Everyone loves it. It is a sheer lipstick that just gives you enough color to look like you don’t have lipstick on, but that you look especially beautiful today. One of my favorite DMs was from someone whose whole group of friends use it. Even though they are have different complexions, it looks good on all of them. They call it the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” lipstick. It is good y’all.

  5. Juliette Has a Gun, Not a Perfume, $28

I am not sure if many people are wearing perfume these days, but I do love this one. It is a very light perfume that smells fresh and clean. It reminds me of when I used to wear Dolce & Gabana Light Blue, but it is a lot lighter and more fresh. I bought like 7 Sephora Play boxes with this sample in it last year and I have barely used one of the sample sizes — a little goes a long way! Thanks to Things I Bought and Liked for this find!

  6. Pat McGrath Labs, Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trip, $25

I LOVE lipstick. However, I never go through a full tube before it is time to throw it away because it is too old. This is why I LOVE trial sizes. I get to try new colors and formulas without the commitment of just one color. I have not tried any Pat McGrath products, but have heard such great reviews about the eyeshadows and lipsticks. Okay, okay, I really just want to try it because there are sequins packed with every product and it just looks so fun.

  7. Amika Soulfood Conditioning Mask, $28

This is one of my favorite masks. It smells AMAZING. It makes your hair buttery soft. I used to think $28 for 8 oz was a lot for a conditioning mask. Until I started to test out other masks… This is a great deal in comparison and I think it works better than Living Proof and the IGK (I still love you IGK!) conditioning masks. Once I am done testing conditioning masks, I will do a more thorough review. If you just want to try it out, there is a 2 oz. size for only $12. It is worth taking a chance on!

  8. Sephora Collection, Miniature Palette, $10

This was one of the first eyeshadow palettes I purchased before I knew how to do a smoke eye. I love this palette because the colors are rich and there are exact instructions on how to create a smoky eye! It is a great palette for beginners — or even professionals with drugstore pricing. Actually, cheaper than drugstore pricing. I recently purchased a drugstore palette to try and it was $18!

  9. IGK Summer Blonding Essentials, $25 ($44 value) I have been using their toning drops since last year. First I used the blue ones because I had brown hair with caramel highlights. Now that I am going through my third-life crisis and bleaching my hair to a lighter blonde, I use the purple drops. I LOVE THEM. They make such a difference. I just add to a leave in or my Olaplex treatment. There is a chart on the back of the box about how many to use — I use 9 drops. This also comes with my new favorite hair product — the Mistress balm. The Mistress balm smells amazing and gives hair the moisture it needs to prevent frizz. I use this when I wear my hair curly or straight — it does a great job of keeping the frizz at bay!

  10. Olaplex Trial Pack, $25

Oh, Olaplex. I love you. This is a great way to try out the line of Olaplex without spending full-price on the items. I LOVE the #3 Bond Repair mask. You may ask — why do you need a Bond Repair mask and a conditioning mask? Well, it is because #3 actually repairs your hair. While it makes your hair soft, it is not something that you use more than once or twice a week. Since I bleach my hair now, this is a must have to prevent my hair from turning into straw. I also use the conditioner about once a week, which is a great, light conditioner that does not weigh your hair down. I LOVE the #6. It is essential if I am blowing out my hair. I do like it better than the Mistress from IGK in terms of fighting frizz, but it is also a lot heavier. This is supposed to keep frizz at bay for 72 hours. It does not for me, but it does a great job of getting a salon-like blow-out at home.

  11. Sephora Favorites, Clean Makeup Set, $28 ($84 value)

I have not purchased this but I love Sephora Favorites kits. I am just a sucker for kits. They are always a great value and help me explore new products that I would not have picked out myself.

    This Set Contains:
    – 0.17 oz/ 5 g Kosas Kosasport LipFuel Hyaluronic Lip Balm in Pulse
    – 0.23 oz/ 7 mL* Ilia Beauty Color Haze Multi-Matte Pigment in Before Today
    – 0.05 oz/ 1.5g Aether Rose Quartz Crystal Gemstone Eyeshadow in Rose Quartz
